Spotlight Initiative Outreach

Faith Church is a church without walls. This means we are intentional in going outside of our four walls and physical building to be the church to the community around us. We do that in multiple ways throughout the year. Learn more about these initiatives below. We welcome you to join our mission to reach our community!

Share the Warmth

Share the Warmth is a community outreach program that shares gifts of warmth for the homeless in the greater Grand Rapids area. Each year we provide gifts which include scarves, hats, gloves, socks, hand warmers, snacks, and hygiene items for our city’s vulnerable community on the street. A group of Faith volunteers and community partners hand-deliver each gift. This allows us to show kindness, engage in conversation, and facilitate human interaction. Through the years we’ve gotten to know these community members by name and look forward to this interaction each year.

Ways to get involved

Give towards the drive! Each fall we begin to collect the items mentioned above for our gift bags.

Volunteer! Come serve with us on Share the Warmth Sunday. STW dates are announced each December.

Families in Need

Faith Church recognizes that times are tough. We have a program that allows us to distribute donations via The Storehouse into the hands of the most vulnerable in our network. This ministry has served over 3000 people since its start in 2019 including single-parent families, new American families, & refugee families.

International Missions

Faith Church partners with the international organization, Ama International, to provide humanitarian relief & education to impoverished areas of Mexico. Through this partnership, we have been able to build a public restroom in an earthquake-destroyed community, build a community center, and help build a school. We continue to support their job training and education programs which empower students to transform their lives. Countless lives have been impacted by this ministry partnership.

Camp Unity

This 4-day camp experience is like no other. Each year we connect with churches throughout the midwest for a family camp adventure. Camp includes activities for kids, youth, and adults, nightly services, and relationship building across different churches. The Apostolic Ministers Alliance established this camp in 2010 and continues to be an important community-building event for Faith Church. Each year we raise money for children and youth to attend who could otherwise not afford to go.

Back to School

Faith Church works to provide back-to-school items for children in need in and around our community. We’ve done this through the years via community carnivals, strategic giveaways, and special child-focused weekends. We care about our children! We want them to be supported in their learning and make an effort to do so through the Back to School effort each year.

Christmas for Children

Christmas for Children is our longest-running community program. Established in 1995, this outreach was born from the heart of Pastor Tami Keller. “Being a child in need, I received a gift from a program. This taught me the power and importance that every child have a gift for Christmas.” -Pastor Tami. Through the years this effort has expanded and we now serve hundreds of children each year to provide Christmas for them. We do this in two ways, by allowing the parent to shop in our toy store or via delivery. We offer to wrap the gifts but also allow the parents to wrap the gift as well. It’s important the parent decides who the gift is from and we do not want or need the credit.
